Watch the Acid Rain online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from The Rhythm Architect

The Rhythm Architect is a big fan of the muted single-note guitar lines, especially in funk music and this progression is the perfect place to add one.

The guitar part is very simple as you can see from the tab and notation. I am using the A minor pentatonic scale for the notes over the Ami7 chord and a D9 arpeggio over the D9 chord. To outline the slash chords I took the middle voicing of the triad from our first guitar part and played that in time with the chord changes.

The top note of each chord would work great too. I complete the single note line with a unison bend of Bb. This acts as a nice stylistic accent to the end of the 4 bar section.
