Watch the Acid Rain online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from The Rhythm Architect

The body of this chord progression is being handled by guitarist no.1 and he or she is playing an Amin7 chord and a D9 chord for one measure each. The following two measures are an Aminor7 chord for one bar and then a really nice ascending chord progression using slash chords which take one beat each. The slash chords are F/G - G/A - Ab/Bb - Bb/C. Remember that the first letter denotes the triad (a three note chord) and the second letter denotes the bass note under it.

Sliding into the Ami7 and D9 chords from a semitone below will sound really nice and try to stay relaxed when playing the funky syncopated rhythm part. If you find the voicings for the slash chord tricky to keep together at first, isolate them and just practice moving them up the fret board until you are ready to incorporate them in the progression.
