Watch the One Chord Type Am7/11 online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from The Power of Five

I start my solo performance in the obvious 5th fret position over this Ami11 chord vamp. I then move my box up 2 frets to the 7th position to get the extensions on the chord. I really like the sound that this creates, it's new and fresh sounding.

Notice I then combine position 5 and 7 to expand the shape. It gives me a dorian scale pattern type of thing!

I then move up to the 12 fret to play the E minor pent box and it still sounds good. That's 3 places to play the same licks over this vamp. Check out the video breakdown of what's happening here and then jam with me in the playalong section.
