Watch the A Major Scale: Chord Seq. online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from Modal Expose
I've designed an exercise for you in which you'll be able to practice playing, memorizing and learning your seven 7th chords all in position from within our A major scale at the 5th fret.
You will have two measures to play each chord in sequence over the corresponding bass note from the A major scale. What I'd really like you to do is name the chord and it's scale position as you play it during the exercise. For example A major 7 'one', Bmi7 'two' etc....Easier said than done I know! Wait till you get to the arpeggio exercise we've got for you! Please also remember to play in time to the drums and place your chords squarely on the beat at the beginning of each measure.
This is a great way for you to remember what chords occupy which position and you'll also be able to see the root note where the related mode starts too, very powerful.
