Watch the Sub I Major for III Minor online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from The Modal Alchemist
The backing track I've created is of a C# minor 7 chord and a C# minor 7 (b13). The b13 can also be qualified as a raised 5th or a flattened 6th. The cool thing here is that the b13 is the note A, which as you know is the root note of the A major 7 chord arpeggio. Mucho method in my madness!
I really wanted to create a nice melodic phrase over this track instead of playing licks and runs. I hope you dig what I played here. Try writing your own melodies and combine them with some new licks using the devices I've been showing you.
