Watch the Pentatonic Scale online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Melodic Patterns

Pentatonic Scale Example 6 turns things around. You use a descending melodic motif where you have to have your finger hyperextended then you roll upright so you're going the reverse of what you did in example 5. This changes the sound because each motif is descending in pitch and you're descending down through the scale. Make sure that you get these dead on. You have to have your finger in just the right spot when it's hyperextended because then when you roll you won't be in the right place if you haven't initially placed your finger the right way.
