Watch the Pentatonic Scale online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Melodic Patterns

Pentatonic Scale Example 5 is again using the high side and low side of this pentatonic scale with an ascending motif, but we are descending throughout the entire scale. This involves the ascending finger rolls where you start on the tip of your finger and then you hyperextend the last joint of your fingertip to roll over cleanly to the next note. You go from G to C in the eighth fret of the second and first strings, then using your index finger play the E to A move on the second and first strings, which is on the low side of the scale. You continue this pattern right down through the scale.
