Watch the David Gilmour online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Kings of Tone

David Jon Gilmour was born in 1946 in Cambridge, England. He joined Pink Floyd in 1968 while Syd Barrett was in the band making it a 5 piece. After Syd left the band Gilmour stepped up to become the band's lead guitarist and one of it's vocalists. The rest of course is history. Roger Waters took over as the main song writer and the sound we associate with Floyd began. Gilmour is one of guitars true kings of tone. He is instantly recognizable and has played some of the most memorable solos in rock music. I bet you could sing a few of his solos to yourself right now!
