Watch the Billy Gibbons online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Kings of Tone

Billy is a tone monster, that man just sounds great through just about anything he plays through. The closest I have come to his tone is by plugging a Les Paul right into a Marshall 18 watt amp. The Marshall 18 watt combo, also known as the 1974x was in production between 1966 and 1968. The amp, when turned up produces a good amount of distortion and compression at a fairly low volume. Marshall has since reissued this great amp. If you get a chance plug one in and crank it, it'll get you into Billy territory.
