Watch the Dickey Betts online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Kings of Tone
Ahhh... let's settle back into the glory of the major pentatonic scale. I love that sound, it reminds me of a summer day hanging out. OK, I am reverting back to my childhood listening to the Allmans with my older brother Steve, forgive me. That is one of the amazing qualities of music, the emotional response it gives. Every scale elicits it's own response, major pentatonic is no exception. As a teacher I am always amazed at how many guitar players aren't comfortable with the major pentatonic scale. This is because the first scale we learn is usually the minor pentatonic scale. Dickey Betts is a great intro into just what a major pentatonic scale can do.
