Watch the Keith Richards online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Kings of Tone

Open G has been around for many years and was traditionally called "Spanish tuning" (open D was called "Vestapol tuning") and was favored by many of the delta blues guitarists such as Charley Patton and Robert Johnson. Here are some Stones tunes in open G tuning, "Brown Sugar", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Tumblin' Dice" (capo 4th fret), "Happy" (capo 4th fret), "Honky Tonk Woman", "Shake Your Hips", "Sway", "Love in Vain", "You Can't always Get What You Want", "Wild Horses", "Rip This Joint", etc. So basically the whole Exile on Main St. and Sticky Fingers records, you get the idea!
