Watch the Outside Sound: Over Minor online guitar lesson by Rob Garland from The Guitarist's Pentathlon
Here's a fun pentatonic application, using the scale to create tension and resolution by moving it up and down by a half step wandering in and out of the key. I think of this idea as related to rhythm guitar comping in the way chord voicings are often shifted up or down a half step at the end of a bar or on a turnaround chord. This one will grab an audience's attention. Using Gm pentatonic against a Gm7 vamp wandering out then resolving strongly back into the scale.
