Add 9 arpeggios are wonderful melodic tools and I'll show you how to use them to improve your soloing. The add 9 arpeggio is a four note entity which is simply the major or minor triad whith an added 9(2). Because there are four notes, these arpeggios can be troublesome to execute when playing in one position. The major add 9 arpeggio can be viewed as the major pentatonic with the b deleted. Your fingers will want to play 2 notes-per-string so be careful.
