Watch the Hendrixian Double Stops online guitar lesson by Matthieu Brandt from Guitar Lab: Triads and Hendrixian Double Stops

For Hendrixian doublestops the major and minor triad forms are great shapes to have in sight when you're embellishing your backup. Have a firm handle on where the basic triad is and find the color notes relative to that triad shape. The Hendrixian double stops can easily be derived from those shapes.

But there is another way to locate these double stops. When the chord is major we mostly use its major pentatonic scale as the source for solos, color notes and double stops. There is a similar relationship between minor triads and the minor pentatonic scale. These scales can give you another easy way of locating Hendrixian double stops.

In this lesson we'll research their basic locations within the scale.
