Watch the Feed Your Dove Some Bread online guitar lesson by Matthieu Brandt from Guitar Lab: Triads and Hendrixian Double Stops

By now we've covered all the basic triad approaches, looked at several ways of inserting doublestops in your backup and connected them through the major and minor pentatonic scales. Let's play through some examples that take matters a step further, Jimi Hendrix' style!

Hendrix took playing backup beneath his own vocals to another level. He used a soulful way of playing triads in a power trio, weaving doublestop lines between and beneath his vocals throwing in triads, sometimes only hinting at the underlying harmony. A style of accompaniment as rich and as challenging as any type of soloing; we'll start off with a ballad in A major in an early Fleetwood Mac type of groove.
