Watch the F G online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: Slash Chord Science
This lesson focuses on the IV and V chords in the key of C. These chords are F and G. In the rhythm chart for this lesson you will see 14 possibilities of these two triads over the seven possible bass notes. For this lesson we will keep the D in the bass so as you can see we can have either the F chord or the G chord as our home base triad.
I have tabbed out various examples of this bi-chordal progression and in the video I will demonstrate many different variations of playing these two chords over the same bass note. It will be very important that you take the concepts that I present and apply them for all the remaining progressions in the rhythm chart for these two chords. Explore the entire fingerboard and remember you are training your ears as well as your hands and your brain.
