Watch the Targeting 4th online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: Riff Generator
This lesson focuses on targeting the 4 of the A minor pentatonic scale all over the entire fingerboard. The 4 is the weakest tone of the minor pentatonic scale but also will be the root of a IV chord. This principle is the theory behind many blues licks and lines where they are in actuality an implied chord change. The 4 resolves up to the 5 as well as down to the b3. I will demonstrate how to build longer phrases by using these melodic moves.
All the techniques you've learned in lessons one through five will be applied to this lesson.
Each lesson in this course is accompanied with specific color-coded diagrams to aid you in visualizing the information on the fingerboard.
