In this lesson we will cover three voicings which utilize a root 5th ninth structure rooted off of the 5th string. The 2nd and 1st strings will be included as open strings thus affecting the harmony. Our first chord is an FMaj9#11(no 3). Its formula is 1 2 #4 5 7 which would be a subset of the following scale: lydian. The next chord is an F#9sus4. Its formula is 1 2 4 5 b7 which would be a subset of the following scales: dorian, mixolydian, aeolian. The final chord in this lesson is a G6/9. Its formula is 1 2 3 5 6 which would be a subset of the following scales: ionian, lydian, mixolydian, overtone.
