Watch the Drop 2 Voicings: online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: The Golden Arp

The drop 2 voicings of the Add 9 chord in 1st inversion are quite easy to finger and also work well in the middle to high registers of the guitar. These forms are derived from the 3rd inversion close voicings by dropping the 2nd voice down an octave and then relocating the fifth and root. Another way to view the drop 2 voicing in 1st inversion is to place the 9th as the lowest voice (4th voice) under a major triad in 2nd inversion.
