Watch the CAGED Forms online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: The Golden Arp

The final lesson takes us back to the "normal" realm of guitar playing. By viewing the five major pentatonic scales associated with the CAGED system we can simply delete the 6 from each scale and we will be left with an Add 9 arpeggio in strict position form.

This is a good time to review the CAGED system, the Major pentatonic scale forms, and all other arpeggios that are subsets of the Major pentatonic. They would be: Power chords (1 5), sus2 (1 2 5), Major triads (1 3 5), and 6 chords (1 3 5 6).
