Watch the Lead Guitar Applications online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from Guitar Interactives

Section 5 covers 14 key principles of lead guitar playing.

We’ll be taking the stylistic backing tracks from the rhythm guitar section and learning how to apply our scales, arpeggio’s and techniques to create solo’s over each of those tracks. I’ll demonstrate a solo for each example and then you can jam over the tracks crafting your own solo’s.

I’ll be showing you how to craft melodic hooks and motifs using musical expressions like double-stops, octave and pedal tone ideas. I’ll be talking to you about crafting the perfect solo by using pace, dynamics and crescendo’s. You’ll learn how to phrase lead fills and licks between the vocal lines and the musical transitions in a song.

Don’t understand the modes? I’ll explain the 7 tonal centers in the major scale in a clear and concise way and also show you where the ‘Sweet Notes’ and tonal centers are within a chord progression for perfect resolutions everytime you take a solo.

We’ll even discuss how to develop your own sound on the guitar, your personal voice that Identifies you from everyone else. We all have a unique voice and perspective and I’ll show you how to express that through your guitar playing sound and style.
