Watch the Other Essential Chords online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from Guitar Interactives

Of course there are thousands of chords that we can play and create on the fretboard and we’d be filming for weeks to cover them all but I did want to give you an insight into some other cool chords that we can use in our musical progressions.

Suspended 4ths, Major and Minor 6th’s, 6/9 , sus 2, add 2/9, 5/2 chords are all great options on our standard chords. Let’s take a look at some of these juicy options in the video. I’ve also provided diagrams of some other voicings and chord types for the G major and A minor chords. Transpose these chords by locating the root note and then move the shape to represent the pitch you want it to represent.
