Watch the B Three online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Guitar Effects Survival Guide

One of my favorite uses of the chorus pedal is to simulate a Hammond B3 organ, the Leslie cab specifically. A Leslie cabinet actually contains a speaker that spins around at two different speeds controlled by a foot switch. It basically creates a Doppler effect with your sound. I first heard jazz/rock guitarist John Scofield use this sound and I thought it was an organ until I found out what he was doing. Stevie Ray Vaughan would use this sound as well quite a bit. It's great because use of a chorus, mainly because a real Leslie cab is about the size of a small refrigerator.
