Watch the Motion Controlled Effects online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Funk Fission
In this instance I’m using the Source Audio Wah/Filter pedal and controlling the frequency sweep parameter. If you haven’t noticed already, an underlying theme of the sonic trickery I have for you in Funk Fission thus far is vocal-like inflections and that’s exactly how I set the Wah/Filter up to sound. Since the sweeps in the Multi-Peak section are set up in a disjunt manner, this makes my hand gestures trigger incredible results from the unit that literally speak to you.
Aside from the effect of the Hot Hand, notice I’m playing The Lemon Riff without a pick and utilizing the pick hand first finger whipping technique among other aforementioned nuances. All together, these combined techniques have my pick hand flailing away and that’s perfect for the premise behind the Hot Hand—see how it all comes together!
The link below will direct you towards the Phaser/Flanger page on the Source Audio website where you’ll find twelve sound files from yours truly that was recorded at the company’s headquarters in Woburn, MA. With Hot Hand ring in hand, err on finger, and my trusty ‘bionic’ Strat strapped on, I laid down all sorts of motion controlled madness. While you’re there navigate to the Multiwave Distortion page and check out more samples as well as an extensive video I did on the pedal that features my First Act PP-5 custom in full force!Hot Hand Phaser/Flanger Samples
