Watch the Minor Pentatonic: All Positions online guitar lesson by Tom Dempsey from Fretboard Phenom

In this lesson we are going to look at the fingerings of the minor pentatonic scale in all of the tonality shapes. For purposes of organization we are going to play this using the root A as our tonic. The A minor pentatonic scale has all of the same notes as the C major pentatonic scale but organized in relation to the tonic A it gives us more of a minor sound. As we did previously we are going to practice these fingerings we are going to practice each scale two different ways. First by playing it within the tonality shape itself. Then we will play all the notes completely in that position returning to the tonic.
