Watch the Harmonic Finger Rolls online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Essential Techniques
In Essential Techniques part I, I described melodic (monophonic) finger rolls. In this lesson I demonstrate harmonic finger rolls which simply mean the lower voice sustains; this allows for a more piano-like approach in chord melody and offers more density options in rhythm and solo lines. Part two of this lesson demonstrates "finger walks". This is simply a means of traversing multiple strings without finger rolls. This is also a great independence and dampening exercise.
