Here's an area that I seem to find myself in all of the time when soloing over anything in D. The dobro simply sounds great in this area!

Notice that I start the lick out with notes that seem to come out of an A chord. That's because they do!

Look at your scale map in G and you'll notice that all of the notes in a 5 chord are in the major scale that the 5 chord comes from. A is the 5 chord in the key of D, and so I can use all of the notes located at the second fret. This is big!
