Watch the Stacks of Fourths online guitar lesson by Matthieu Brandt from Chord Cookbook
We’ve gone through a lot of different chords, chord voicings, inversions, a variety of chord tricks and the colors or textures they create. These chords were all constructed with what we call ‘tertial harmony’. The chord notes are stacked on top of each other with a major or minor third in between them. But we’ve also come across some chords that had different formulas, which resulted in some very colorful sounds. In this section we'll explore chords that don't have a third in them; sus4 and sus2.
