Watch the D Form: Solo Example online guitar lesson by Dave Celentano from CAGED Commander
The intro for the 'D form' solo begins on the 'and' of beat 3 and uses rhythm repetition during the string bending ideas in bars 2-3. Bars 4-5 feature a call and respond idea where the first idea (bar 4) is responded to (bar 5). The run that begins on the 'and' of beat 4/bar 5 and ascends the scale pattern until reaching beat 3/bar7 is built on a six note sequence that occures on each pair of strings. Try using hybrid picking for this - pick is assigned to the lower string in the pair and middle finger to the higher. This is repeated for each string pair. The solo concludes with a descending idea using more rhythm repetition (bars 8-10).
