Use one finger per fret to play the 'E form' scale pattern: assign the index to the 7th fret, middle to the 8th fret, ring to the 9th fret, and pinkie to the 10th fret. Begin and end the scale on the lowest root note (see attached tab chart). One of the most common barre chords (and probably the first barre chord a guitar student learns) is the 'E form', and here it is in all it's glory. This ubiquitous barre chord is found in countless rock and country songs.
