Watch the C Form: Solo Example online guitar lesson by Dave Celentano from CAGED Commander

The entire solo stays within the 'C form' scale pattern and uses some common soloing devices like 'rhythm repetition' - the first two phrases (bars 1-3) each use the same rhythm, and 'scale sequencing' - (end of bar 5 through mid section of bar 7) which uses a six note sequence to ascend the scale (except for the 'and' of beat 3/bar 6, which deviates to a five note sequence before resuming the original six note pattern to wrap up the phrase). While staying strictly in the 'C form' pattern try improvising over the backing track and come up with your own solo ideas. Remember - the strongest notes are the chord tones. Try to resolve your ideas on one of these like I demonstrated in the solo example.
