Watch the D Mixolydian 4 online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from 50 Modal Licks You MUST Know
This is the last of 4 D Mixolydian licks over this backing track. So, please join up these licks to make longer musical statements over the track.
You may have noticed that I move into different positions on the fretboard for each lick. I'm doing this to expand your facility on the guitar and also to allow you to start lower on the fretboard with the first lick and then join the next lick to it that is higher in pitch. Method in the madness? Always!
This is another arpeggio based idea that I've added those slinky chromatic tones too, to make it flow better. As you know, arpeggio's are great but can sound stiff if you don't approach them in a musical way. The tab and notation will help you on this phrase. Again, nothing technical, it's more about the phrasing on this idea. Next up E Mixolydian.
