Watch the D Phrygian 2 online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from 50 Modal Licks You MUST Know

One of my favorite licks from this course I'm substituting a Bb major 7 arpeggio over the III chord in the opening phrase of this lick, which sounds fabulous to me. (More on diatonic chord substitutions in the next course!) Another key element to this lick is the Eb5/2 arpeggio I play starting on the 5th string. This could also be seen as stacked fifths in ascending order.

The key element to me on this particular phrase is that is just seems to work perfectly over the backing track. Nothing too technical or flashy, just a good solid melodic line.
