Watch the G Ionian 2 online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from 50 Modal Licks You MUST Know
I'm using a wide range of dynamic frequencies in this lick to show you some pace and crescendo starting from low to high. This is a great way to start or end a solo section and you'll notice that each sustained note is a chord tone of the G chord.
My resolution point was extra solid by using a double stop major 6th (D & B)the perfect 5th and major 3rd of G.
Creating lines like this will require you to be very familiar with your scale shapes across the entire fingerboard and of course, knowing the notes at every fret will help with this too, especially the resolution points Sweet Notes Baby!
