Watch the Clap-Tone online guitar lesson by James Hogan from 50 All-Purpose Pentatonic Licks

Lick #8 “Clap-Tone” is a nice little repeater lick that you’ll hear often in the playing of Eric Clapton. You can play this on any guitar that you wish but it’ll sound more like Clapton if you play it on a Strat in an out of phase pickup position. This lick is based in Position III of A minor Pentatonic and uses a dotted 16th note rhythm to give it a distinct sound.
