Watch the West Coast Influences online guitar lesson by Lee Roy Parnell from Slide Guitar Slinger

We talked a little bit about my early slide playing days, and how much Duane Allman influenced me. I was devoted to his style of playing, and still love it, but I had to move away from the Southern rock thing to develop my own sound, while still being melodic and slide-oriented. I started looking to the west coast and those players, such as Lowell George, and especially David Lindley. I also take a lot of influence from guitar players like Bonnie Raitt, Ry Cooder, Jesse Ed Davis, etc.
