Watch the The Language of Improvisation online guitar lesson by Bill Evans from The Language of Improvisation
You did it! You got through the course. Give yourself a pat on the back! Hopefully I have taken the mystery out of learning how to improvise. It’s now a language that you can learn how to speak by practicing the different concepts I have shown you through out the course. In time, you will be able to say more and more and eventually become someone who has a unique voice all of your own. It takes time, but the journey is fun and WORTH IT! I am writing this final paragraph while sitting in my hotel room in Northern Spain, finishing up a 5 week tour of Europe with my band. Every night I get up and try to tell a different and unique story on my instrument, to every audience I play for. The techniques used through this course have enabled me to do that. I have been in 14 different countries in the past 5 weeks. There are probably 8 different foreign languages but music is universal! It doesn’t matter what country you are in, everyone can relate to you!
If you take this course seriously and practice these concepts, you will free yourself up to improvise on any kind of music put in front on you. It is endless. And you will have more fun than you ever imagined! Good luck on your mission. I’m going to leave you now and take a walk around the old city of this small Spanish town I’m in at the moment (Lugo, Spain). I never dreamed learning how to improvise would have gotten me this far. As I always like to say “we get paid to travel…we play for free! “
