Watch the Gypsy Magic: 2 online guitar lesson by Tony Smotherman from World Rock Guitar

We'll begin by playing the same melody as the traditional track, but things soon change. Climbing up a D minor scale with some heavy palm muting, we'll then descend linearly using hammer-ons and pull-offs, bringing us quickly into the 5th position. An interesting pedal point idea is played using hybrid picking and a harmonic minor scale, then we'll play a two string sweeping idea to create some "flash" (as it always should be in Gypsy music). After some more harmonic minor/gypsy scale runs, we'll return back to the original melody or the "head" of the piece.
