Watch the Rapid Fire - Solo online guitar lesson by Jeff Scheetz from Rock Solid
One of the things about playing fast is that players tend to do things they have done a million times in practice. We learn things by rote and then repeat when necessary. While this usually isn't the best path to musical expression, since we are just using finger memory instead of creativity, sometimes we can apply some of the scales and riffs we have practiced in a musical way.
This solo does have some bluesy bends and phrasing, but it also has a couple of scalular riffs that require some time alone with the metronome! Try to get the scale runs down, but when in doubt - express yourself!
