Watch the Akbar: Solo 1 online guitar lesson by Trey Alexander from Quantum Rock
Here again we start off with a nice melody before we break into anything else. This allows the song to breath a little bit. It also allows for a nice set up into the next part of the song. I really think that is the hardest concept to grasp as a guitarist, allowing some time before you get to the next phrase or idea. Really take your time and let the solo grow on you, and most importantly feel it in your soul. Once we go through that melody we get to some nice 3rds. And we even touch on some pedal tone ideas and repeating lines. These are a little more complicated so take that power tab and really concentrate on getting each of those riffs nice and clean. We end the solo with a big Eric Johnson influence. I hope you enjoy and remember rip and steal any licks that you like. I guarantee that all of your favorite players have done it and what makes it so cool is that it infuses a little bit of the past with your present flare.
