Watch the Rhythmic Figure #12 online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: Diamond Rock Rhythm
This figure begins with an upstroke on the second and third strings using a double stop from the low side of the C minor pentatonic scale. You will then hammer on the fourth and third strings with your fretting hand to sound the double stop from the high side of the scale. This is an example of a ‘hammer on from nowhere’. This same double stop is played with an upstroke on the ‘and’ of the second beat. Throughout the video you will receive suggestions on how to dampen with your fretting hand thus preventing unwanted string noise.
