Watch the Minor Pentatonic online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: Diamond Rock Rhythm
This lesson presents the minor pentatonic scale as a useful tool both in rhythm and lead guitar playing. The formula for the minor pentatonic scale can be seen in diagram four. It involves adding the b3 and the 4 to the 7 no 3 arpeggio presented in lesson seven. Notice that the b3 will always be a minor third higher than the root and a major second lower than the 4. Also the 4 will always be a major second higher than the b3 and major second lower than the 5.
