Watch the Sixteeth Notes online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: Diamond Rock Rhythm
This lesson speeds it up by presenting 16th notes. 16th notes ring a quarter of a beat each and are therefore twice as fast as eighth notes. They are counted: 1 e and a 2 e and a 3 e and a 4 e and a. Alternate picking is necessary in order to be able to play these at the required speed. The picking protocol is as follows: down on the numbers and the “ands”, up on the e’s and a’s.
