I'll give you four licks for a D7 chord that involve the b3 to 3 move. We'll cover fingering options as well as rhythmic placement. For the b3 to 3 move, try using a legato slide or a bend instead of the hammer-on. Remember that you can also "smear" (1/4 step bend) the b3 for a darker more bluesy sound.
