Watch the Spy Hunter: 8 online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Guitar Cubed

Guitar 3 will always be performed over the bass and drums as well as Guitar 1. This is done for several reasons: Guitar 3 is not meant to be a solo per se, as much as it’s meant to be a bonified third guitar part; since Guitar 1 is meant to be a foundational part and Guitar 3 is meant to be a lead part it makes sense to play one over the other. That all said, make no mistake, Guitar 3 parts have their rippin' moments but the point is they never leave the context of what's happening underneath and THAT'S what makes this all work.

Of the many details to be discussed keep your ear peeled for the transition from minor to major and see if you can pick it out by ear. If you can’t hear it just yet, don’t worry, as Robert Plant would say, “all will be revealed.”
