Watch the Purple: 2 online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Guitar Cubed

Watching both Guitars 1 & 2 you can see there’s some cool chords that await you. When composing with more complex harmony the trick is to get all the chords agreeing with one another. One way to do that is to make sure the two parts don’t have chords ringing out at the same time for too long. Notice against Guitar 1’s funky hemiola, which is pretty sparse, is momentary stabs heard from Guitar 2. Considering the tonal differences, the two parts bounce off each other well. And yes, there’s a lot of tritones swimming in those chords that we'll look into more closely in their respective breakdowns.

If you’re grimacing every time you watch the Guitar 1 hand make the stretches in bars 6 and 8, don’t sweat it. It’s all in the thumb placement.
