Watch the Granola: 4 online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Guitar Cubed
As you can see Guitar 1 is all about that almost-always-appropriate Hendrix-y chord embellishment technique. An essential part of that technique is in your 1st finger’s ability to smoothly move two- and three-note barring at will. The plethora of myriad legato instances is nested within diadic snippets the 1st finger plays host to. Watch how my 1st finger is stationed on the 5th and 4th strings for the kick-off whole step hammer-on at the downbeat and then quickly shifts over to the 4th and 3rd strings for the remainder of the first bar. While you’re staring the fret hand down be sure to keep the pick hand in your periphery as well and watch for the 4th finger. Check out how it drops in both times in bar 4 providing an anchor for the arpeggiated motif played on the 8th position C7. This and much more will be looked into in the breakdown that follows.
