Watch the Cry For You Progression 1 online guitar lesson by Andy Timmons from Electric Expression
Next up in this performance section is Cry For You, the verse section. The chords that we're going to be playing are D minor, B flat major 7. Those two chords repeat again, D minor, B flat major 7. Then it goes to G minor. Then it goes to A minor for bar. Then A with a dominant seventh. And I'm going to employ several different techniques in this section, one of which we haven't talked about, which is using an open string to drone, so it's called a drone string. Then playing notes in addition to that drone string. Some of the double stop ideas that we talked about. As always we're talking about note choice and how I'm resolving in usually to the thirds of each chord as they go by. Understanding and knowing what those chord tones are is really, really handy, in addition to the scales. And also a couple of picking things to illuminate how I'm picking up under the strings for dynamic emphasis, and then some of the hybrid picking things we talked about. So here we go. Hope you enjoy it, and let's do it.
