Watch the A Night To Remember Progression online guitar lesson by Andy Timmons from Electric Expression

In this performance section we're going to talk about the end solo section of A Night to Remember which is a ballad that was on my Ear E-tacy 2 CD many moons ago. It's another chord progression that's based in D minor. It's D minor to F major to B flat major. And like any chord sequence it's good to find each of those chords and then find other variations. Find other ways because that's going to lead you to other places to go melodically. So keeping that in mind, in this section I'm going to illuminate the melody to that particular section, which is always handy to know the melody because that can give you a clue as to what notes are appropriate for that key. I play the melody, then I do some double stop ideas and some very rhythmic ideas that plug through those changes. And I do some unison bending and I also do some scalar triplet ideas. I take a basic rhythmic idea, and then I take it through in scalar motion. I'm going through each little ascending and descending scale degree in that pattern, so hopefully these things will be fun to learn on their own, but then will inspire you to create your own ideas.
