For optimum speed and efficiency pre-set all four fret hand fingers on the high E string before picking the first note (index - 9th fret, middle - 10th, ring - 11th, and pinkie - 12th). Once all four fingers are planted, proceed to pull-off one at a time in succession beginning with the pinkie through index. Use this method throughout the piece whenever possible. Strive for a smooth and even tone by playing slow and steady with a metronome. Also, rest the heel of the picking hand on the lower unplayed strings to reduce string noise.
